Try and convince me that this isn't the greatest word you've ever heard! I can't believe I didn't know this one.

Nudiustertian - (n) the day before yesterday.

I always thought it was just that - the day before yesterday. No idea there was a word for it and I though I would share.

Kakorrhaphiophobia - (n) fear of failure

I guess there's a fear for just about everything!

Whippersnapper: a young person considered to be presumptuous or overconfident.

I was often accused of being this when I was younger. Now I'm slow to use it as a label, but I'm still overconfident with most things.

Houghmangandy - Sexual intercourse with someone you are not married to. This is a rare word found mostly in Scottish writing of the 18th century. Today we just say someone is promiscuous.

Although, it's a pretty great word and I think it deserves a comeback.

Ooglification - To substitute an "OO" sound for another vowel sound to make a regular English word into a slang word or to make a slang word even more slangier ( Read more... )
